Transgressive Records is today delighted to announce the signing of the fast-rising Irish/Cornish band, Girl In The Year Above.

The band has been steadily building a reputation for their incendiary live shows following relentless touring in the UK and Europe over the past year, going on to sell out their own headline shows.

Their first recordings include an evocative rendition of ‘Teardrop’ which featured prominently in the ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ film soundtrack, as acclaimed by the song’s originators Massive Attack as well as the movie’s lead actor Cillian Murphy, granting the band a placement in the UK Top-100 Singles Chart. The band’s anthemic first singles proper, ‘Mama, My Heart Is Achin’ and ‘Ode To The Glory Days’ soon followed, with the accompanying 7” long sold out, last seen going for a small fortune on Discogs.

New music is arriving this coming week, in the form of a single, the band’s first for Transgressive.
