Miso Extra shares new song, featuring & produced by Metronomy

The pioneering British-Japanese artist Miso Extra has teamed up with Metronomy for her latest single, ‘Good Kisses’, released today via Transgressive. Produced by and featuring Joseph Mount, the track was written and recorded this summer and completed at Damon Albarn’s Studio 13 with Riccardo Damian (known for his work with Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith and Sampha). Written about romantic insecurity – in Miso’s words “about this crushingly insecure feeling you get when someone is not as into you as you are them” – the song balances her unique take on sophisticated pop music, as drum machines and bilingual choruses pull the listener into the spellbinding world she has heralded the “Misoverse”.

‘Good Kisses’ offers a glimpse of what’s to come from a forthcoming project, following her recent single ‘Slow Down’ – a euphoric, UKG-infused track co-written and produced by DJ Boring. For both singles, as well as some earlier releases, Miso collaborated with Chinese-Indonesian filmmaker and photographer Claryn Chong across the visual creative.

Miso Extra is currently touring across the UK and Europe with Rejjie Snow, and returned to the capital at the weekend for a performance at Pitchfork London alongside Tierra Whack.
