Three exciting and diverse new remixes, the EP features re-workings from Amapiano/house producer Ice Beats Slide, who here brings a classic township flavour; Dr Feel, who adds uptempo beats made for the club; and Citizen Deep, a key figure in the Afro tech and ever rising 3-Step style and culture.

It’s been a big year for The Joy. In addition to the release of their first full length record, the group performed at Coachella, joining Doja Cat to open her headline performance having been hand-selected by her as a guest. The Joy provided lead vocals alongside the American rapper on three of her tracks, all of which have since been released as part of Scarlet 2 CLAUDE. More recently the group performed live with Johnny Flynn, and are featured on Jennifer Hudson’s Christmas album, The Gift Of Love. This month sees them return to Europe for shows at the London Jazz Festival, Oslo World and COLORS Paris, ahead of Sole DXB in Dubai alongside James Blake in December, and their first Australian tour, including Woodford Festival, Perth Festival and Womadelaide.

Recorded live during one live take, the album showcases the astounding natural vocal ability of the 5 group members – Pastor (Ntokozo Bright Magcaba), Duzie (Melokuhle Mkhungo), Guduza (Sphelele Hlophe), Sthombe (Phelelani Sithole) and Marcus (Sanele Ngcobo) – who have been together since meeting at school, and it was their astonishing talent which led Doja Cat to hand select them as her guest at Coachella.
